Section 61 Requests

Section 3 of Immigration Act 2009 states that any who is not a New Zealand citizen requires to hold a visa to travel or remain in New Zealand. Person who does not hold a valid visa and residing in New Zealand considered as illegal and is liable for deportation. All cases where applicant does not hold a valid visa, can request an application of Visa under Section 61 of the Immigration Act 2009. Section 61 does not give right to apply for any visa however it allows to make a request to Minister of Immigration or a delegated officer. Considering section 61 requests are “Absolute Discretion” of the Minister.
